As a mixed-race, queer individual, I teeter on the outskirts of many cultures, looking on, observing patterns. Largely, tradition informs identity, and perspective is thoroughly rooted in social context. Rarely do we reconsider these confines, much less define our own. My interest centers around appreciating diversity and enriching societal narrative through artistic ritual. Decoration, particularly of the human body, holds powerful emotional and cultural significance, deepening our experience. As we move toward a global society, there is great opportunity to celebrate each other through new, shared culture.
